Our client is an international provider of comprehensive services based in the Central Bohemian region. The company provides supply chain services, including warehousing, handling and transportation across industries.
Responsibility
As the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for all transportation operations within the company, which includes:
- Managing the transport department and its operations, including coordinating and optimizing the use of transportation resources.
- Managing and maintaining the transport department's operations, including transport technology and safety.
- Managing the transportation budget and ensuring that all transportation operations are cost-effective.
- Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers, generating new business leads, and providing competitive pricing offers.
- Maintaining and managing relationships with transportation service providers and suppliers.
- Developing transportation strategies and policies that align with the organisation's objectives.
- Directly managing subordinate employees in the transport department, including dispatchers.
- Preparing payroll documents and ensuring regular meetings with team members.
- Collaborating with the warehouse manager to evaluate and optimize goods and document flow processes within the Transport<>Warehouse framework.
- Monitoring transportation operations to ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.
- Developing and implementing transportation management systems to optimize transportation processes.
- Developing and implementing maintenance programs to ensure the proper functioning of vehicles and transportation equipment.
- Analyzing transportation data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborating with the head of the warehouse manager to optimize processes within the transport and warehouse frameworks.
- Resolving transportation-related issues and disputes in a timely and efficient manner.
- Staying up-to-date with transportation regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement.
Personality Requirements and Skills:
- At least 5 years of experience in transportation management, preferably in the logistics industry.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills (performance management, motivation, coaching, employee development).
- Ability to work through others, set priorities, and delegate responsibility.
- Excellent experience in national transport in Czech Republic; knowledge of the market of transport and logistics services; regulatory documentation.
- Deep knowledge of transportation processes and distribution systems (route planning, truck management, fleet control).
- Experience with subcontractor management, supplier contracts, customer care, invoicing.
- Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, negotiation skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities with an ability to obtain and analyse information and draw business solutions.
- The ability to effectively deliver insights, recommendations, and results to executive management.
- Strong sense of urgency around delivery of reports and deadlines.
- Ability to make connections, find solutions to problems, and take responsibility for decisions.
- Integrity, loyalty, honesty, and discretion.
- Advanced PC level (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Language Skills: English (advanced), Czech (advanced)
